Cost & Payment Grants Visa
Warning — beware of scams. There is an increasing number of fraudulent websites and email promotions claiming to offer registration and accommodation services. Payment for your attendance can only be processed through your personal myErice area. Your accommodation is covered by your participation fee and is handled directly by the organisers, who have no conventions with any hotels and are in no way responsible for arrangements made autonomously.

Cost and payment

The registration fee includes registration, room boarding and LODOS' membership fee (10€, compulsory to attend the school courses). This sum covers room and board (including meals) from the evening of the first day of the Course (arrival day) to the morning of the last day (departure day); transportation to/from the airport on arrival and departure day, course excursion(s) and all social events held during the meeting are also included in the fee.

Accommodations (generally in a shared bedroom with bathroom and shower) are organized by the School. If you would like to share a room with a friend, please let the organizer know during the registration process.

The fee for the accompanying person covers full board, lodging, social activities and transportation to/from the airport on arrival and departure day.

Applicants will receive specific instructions for fee payment upon acceptance to the course.

Grants

Grants and funding

For scientists interested in attending the school but needing financial assistance, several organizations provide travel grants. Participants are encouraged to reach out to these organizations directly.

  • Grants to cover the registration fee (whole or in part), mainly for applicants under 35, may be available from the school organizers. A letter from a senior scientist to support the applicant's request should be sent to Annalisa Guerri together with the request for funding. The letter should include the amount requested.

Several organizations provide travel grants. Participants are encouraged to reach out to these organizations directly. Additional information can be obtained by writing to Annalisa or Paola.

Grants covering travelling expenses are usually not available but you can check the following websites for possibilities:

  • The MAE (Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DGPCC, Office VI) annually awards bursaries and grants to foreign and Italian citizens interested in advancing their scientific and technological expertise. Information on the application procedures — which must be initiated well in advance — can be obtained at Italian embassies abroad or via www.esteri.it

Visa

Visa

Depending on the country they are travelling from, School participants may need a Visa to enter Italy. To find out if you need a visa check https://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/; the site is available in several languages.

If a visa is necessary, once accepted to the course, you need to send detailed information for the visa issue. Consult your personal myErice page for instruction as soon as possible.
