The Didi "Symmetrical" mask planned by Lodovico for the Bal-en-tete

"Symmetry" is a charm exhibited by Nature: minerals, plants, animals as well as simple molecules to large biological assemblies, appear to stick to symmetry.
The organizers have planned an exceptional break from Sunday late afternoon to Monday late morning, with the intention to "celebrate" this aspect, evident also in the course number, as well as the present year 2002, and the year 1441, when the palace in Palermo which will host us for a dinner and bal-en-tete,
was built..........
Let's call it the DD-symmetry:
her name is indeed Didi !!!!!

Participants are encouraged to stimulate their
fantasy and creativity ( e.g. "dual", DD,
Drug, Design, Docking, Discovery, Deoxy-,
Databank, Dynamics, D-sheet..... will this be
announced in Erice 2002 ???? !!!! )
so as to wear at the dance, preferably on
their
heads and/or shoulders, masks,
scarves, hats or shirts or anything related
to

genomics

The (traditional) archaeological excursion on Thursday 31 May starts before lunch (lunch packets provided). The bus ride takes 95 minutes to Selinunte city, a large flattened collection of Greek ruins, where one of the impressive temple has been re-mounted.
Along the way back to Segesta, a quick visit to a quarry has been defined "unforgettable". Segesta city appears today mainly as a temple (here) plus a theatre and the rest is kept under the green and left to your imagination. A simple buffet dinner will be served in front of the temple. An alternative excursion to a white sand beach, S. Vito lo Capo, skips the 95 mins bus drive to Selinunte but will end also with the visit plus dinner to Segesta.
